As parents and family of children with disabilities, we know that one of the best supports when you're struggling is a friend who really understands what you're going through. That's why we always encourage clients to try at least one of our Special Education Workshops, Support Groups, or Parenting Classes and Triple P Workshops--you'll learn something interesting, and you'll get a chance to make lasting connections with other parents. Special Education Workshops

Special Education Fundamentals
FOR: parents and caregivers of children ages 3-22 who may be eligible for or are new to Special Education.
In this course parents learn the fundamentals of Special Education laws, rights and responsibilities, and the IEP process. Attendees also get access to a video library of additional IEP information.

Beyond Special Education Fundamentals
FOR: parents and caregivers of children ages 3-22 with an IEP.
Take your IEP knowledge to the next level. This interactive 1.5 hour workshop is designed to help parents gain a deeper understanding of assessments, SMART goals, services, placements, and the Least Restrictive Environment, and learn to work effectively with the IEP team to ensure successful implementation and ongoing support.
Special Education Fundamentals is a prerequisite for taking this course.

Grow Together Playgroup
FOR: parents or caregivers of children with or suspected of a disability ages 0 to 5
Concerned about your 0 to 5 year old's development? This free, fun playgroup focuses on a different area of development over 5 weeks. You'll take home new ideas and activities to keep the growing going!

Introduction to ADD/ADHD
FOR: parents and caregivers of children newly diagnosed with or suspected of having ADD/ADHD ages 3 to 22
This overview class helps parents understand the basics of ADD/ADHD and how it can affect a child’s behavior at home and in school. Parents will learn about common symptoms, the best steps to get testing, and what resources and accommodations are available for this diagnosis.

Parent Stress Reduction
FOR: parents and caregivers of children with special needs or disabilities, ages 0 to 22
There is so much to worry about, everyone can use a little help. We're making it easy for you to learn positive steps to reduce your stress in this workshop. Made possible through funding provided by the County of Napa.

Skills for Effective Parent Advocacy
FOR: parents and guardians of children with a special need or disability, ages 3 to 22
This class teaches parents communication tips that level up their advocacy skills to help professionals hear their ideas and concerns about their child.

Project Leadership
FOR: parents and caregivers of children with special needs, ready to take the next step in advocating for them and others like them.
In eleven in-depth sessions, learn to effectively navigate and influence healthcare, mental health, and education systems; gain tools to make informed decisions; connect with other parents and caregivers; access mentorship and connections to advocacy networks at the local, state, and national levels. This comprehensive training series empowers parents to become confident advocates and leaders.

Triple P Positive Parenting Workshops
Parenting is rewarding, but it can also be hard! Triple P isn't about fixing "bad"parenting. It's about learning simple, positive strategies and getting support for the specific challenges in your family, from people who understand what you're going through.

Stepping Stones Triple P
FOR: parents and caregivers of children with special needs or disabilities, ages 0 to 12
These seminars give an understanding of the basics of positive parenting and address some of the most common parenting and behavioral issues families face. Parents can attend one or all of the sessions.

• Session 2- Helping your child reach their potential
• Session 3- Changing problem behavior into positive behavior

Stepping Stones Triple P Group Level 4
FOR: parents and caregivers of children with special needs or disabilities, ages 0 to 12
This 4-week parenting course for parents struggling with challenging behavior offers practical parenting strategies tailored for children with disabilities plus real-life examples of those strategies in action. Parents get a free workbook and optional phone consultations to help with problem solving and planning.

Fear-Less Triple P Workshop
FOR: parents and caregivers of children with special needs or disabilities who are struggling with anxiety, ages 0 to 12
This program helps parents get a better understanding of anxiety in children and learn strategies to help them manage it-safely and gradually. It uses positive parenting principles and helps the whole family feel more confident, calm and capable.

Sibshops
FOR: children in 3rd to 5th grade who have a sibling with special needs
This peer support program provides kids a safe space to be heard and understood, build friendships with kids who have similar experiences, and explore their feelings about the good and not-so-good parts of having a sibling with special needs.
